Little Thunder Sound
In the early nineties two brothers along with their father started Little Thunder Sound. At this time, in Montreal, reggae music was still in its growth stage. In the early years we played on a weekly basis for private parties, weddings, and dancehall competitions. Dancehall competitions have always been and will always be a major part of the Jamaican party scene. As the sound grew we began to compete with sounds from all over Canada. Our first major win was in Winnipeg where we brought home the first place trophy. This was the first step that elevated Little Thunder Sound as one of the top sound systems in Montreal and around the world.
In 2001 Montreal had its first and largest sound clash competition. The premise was to confirm which sound truly represented Montreal. Needless to say, Little Thunder Sound won the competition and the group grew to a completely different level. Following such a great accomplishment, we went on tour to Barbados, Jamaica and many Canadian cities.
In 2002 we were looking for different ways to grow and develop our sound. We started by opening for shows such as Sanchez and Glen Washington, just to name a few. After that we went a little deeper into the entertainment industry, by bringing in promotional artist from Jamaica such as: Mr. Vegas, Beenie Man, Capleton, Bounty Killer, and Sean Paul.
After 2002 it seems as though everything we touched turned to gold. The year 2003 brought many victories from sound clash competitions in Toronto, Jamaica, Barbados and New York. We have achieved our goal in establishing Little Thunder Sound throughout the world.
The future looks bright; our plans are to continue touring the Caribbean, North America, and Europe.
